Georgia State President M. Brian Blake issued the following message on Friday, March 4 to the university community:
Dear Panther Community,
As the situation in Ukraine continues to unfold, I want to assure you that we are here to support members of our community who are affected by this ongoing global crisis. The Office of the Dean of Students has been in close contact with students from the region, and many of our faculty experts have weighed in with context for the media and our community.
The university stands in solidarity and support against all acts of injustice.
On Tuesday, March 8, the Office of Student Engagement, in collaboration with the Provost’s Office, will hold a virtual program entitled “Community Conversation: A Discussion of How Conflicts Abroad Impact Members of Our Georgia State Community” from noon to 1 p.m. I encourage members of the university community to attend and share their thoughts.
I also want to highlight that our Counseling Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (404-413-1640), and that students can contact the Office of the Dean of Students if they need additional resources: [email protected]
