Georgia State will celebrate the life and legacy of The Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., during the MLK Commemoration this January, with events that honor his contributions and how we can continue the work of the Rev. King and his fellow luminaries from the Civil Rights Movement.
Important update - the launch event originally scheduled for Oct. 5 has been postponed due to forecasted inclement weather. Details of a new date will be arranged soon. -- Jeremy Craig, Website Editor (The Center for the Advancement of Students and Alumni (The CASA) will host a book signing and open house for Academic Pipeline Programs: Diversifying Pathways from the Bachelors to the Professoriate, a new book investigating how academic institutions can measure and compare their programs aimed at diversity, equity and inclusion – including the framework that powers the DEI website’s Diversity Database.)
As part of the university’s signature heritage observance months, Georgia State’s Cultures, Communities & Inclusion team is marking LGBTQ+ History Month this October, and you are invited to join in on the celebration.

The Cultures, Communities & Inclusion (CCI) initiative aims to help student programs become more interconnected through a collaborative structure of support across Georgia State’s campuses.
Participate in the first virtual Diversity Dialogue of the academic year on Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in a presidential listening session on inclusive excellence and the faculty.
Georgia State University has received Insight Into Diversity’s 2021 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award, a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
