Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Newsletters

About the Newsletter
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Georgia State newsletter serves to highlight news, events, programs, resources and opportunities from around the university related to DEI topics. It is published by the ad hoc team administering the DEI website through the Office of the Provost and the Office of Faculty Affairs, in collaboration with other departments and units at the institution. It began in November 2020.
Starting in AY 2022-23, the DEI newsletter is published twice per academic year, with a standing DEI special section in the Provost's Office newsletter (published four times per academic year).
Next Edition & Future DEI Communications
Newsletter: The dedicated DEI section of the Provost's Office newsletter will appear in March 2023. The standalone DEI newsletter resumes during the fall 2023 semester.
Signature Heritage Months: Special standalone emails will go out to campus for the following months, during the week of each respective month:
- March: Women's History Month
- April: Asian/Pacific Islander/Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month*
- June: Social Justice Summer (including Juneteenth, Caribbean American Heritage Month and Pride)
*Asian-American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in the United States is officially celebrated in May. Georgia State observes APIDA during April so that the community can enjoy activities before the spring semester ends (the last day of classes at Georgia State for the spring is typically in late April, with the last day of finals in very early May.).
How to Submit
The DEI communications team will consider items on a case by case basis. Due to space limitations, not all items can be published in the e-newsletter, but some can be considered for publication in the DEI website news feed (which appears on the front page; full news page link here).
