LATINX HERITAGE MONTH
Latinx Heritage Month, also known as National Hispanic Heritage Month, is nationally celebrated each year from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

GEORGIA STATE RECEIVES 2021 HIGHER EDUCATION EXCELLENCE IN DIVERSITY AWARD
Georgia State University has received Insight Into Diversity’s 2021 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award, a national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
INTRODUCTION TO CULTURES, COMMUNITIES, & INCLUSION
Cultures, Communities & Inclusion (CCI) through the Division of Student Engagement and Programs aims to help the university's student groups and student-oriented programs become more interconnected, creating a collaborative structure of support across Georgia State’s campuses.
BOOK EXPLORING AND MEASURING BEST PRACTICES IN ACADEMIC PIPELINE PROGRAMS LAUNCHES OCT. 5
The Center for the Advancement of Students and Alumni (The CASA) will host a book signing and open house for Academic Pipeline Programs: Diversifying Pathways from the Bachelors to the Professoriate, a new book investigating how academic institutions can measure and compare their programs aimed at diversity, equity and inclusion.

HIGHLIGHTED PROGRAMS FROM THE DIVERSITY DATABASE
The Latino Leadership Pipeline Scholarship helps increase the number of students of Hispanic or Latinx heritage who enroll and complete their undergraduate degrees at Georgia State and provide mentors, internships and community service experiences to these students so they can become the leaders of the future.
The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) is an extension of the Multicultural Center and focuses on providing services, resources and intentional support for students identifying as or connecting to LGBTQIQA and varying gender identities.

- National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD) Writing Challenge - The NCFDD Writing Challenge for graduate students, post-docs and faculty is being held October 18-31. Deadline: October 13.
- The Committee on Equity of Professional Opportunity (CEPO) Undergrad Research Proposal - The goals of CEPO are to increase membership and participation among under-represented groups, to sponsor programming to address their concerns, and to provide role models, including a SEPA/CEPO Invited Speaker at the SEPA annual meeting. Deadline: November 21.
